How to open a file in Firefox with File Opener rollApp

is ideal to access files from multiple computers or devices, but sometimes have to download every time can be long and tedious. To save you the trouble, Firefox add-on called rollApp File Opener allows you to open and even edit files in the browser without having to install other applications. Support the cloud storage services like Dropbox, Google Docs, and 4Shared box. Here’s how to start:.

Open a new tab or window and go to https:// / www.rollap.com to open free account. You can use your Google account, Twitter, Facebook, Yahoo, or OpenID to register.

Enter login to your chosen network and provide access to the page rollApp Next.

You will then be guided to add cloud storage services to link to your account rollApp. Select a service from the dropdown list and click Connect.

You should get a confirmation that your account is now linked to rollApp service. In my case, I chose to connect to my Dropbox account

Note : The add- on will ask you to allow pop-ups, in this case, a tutorial on how to be available to you if you are setting off pop-up

After you get. confirmation, you can now access cloud services in another tab or window Firefox. This time, the add-on installed, you will get a pop-up with options to open or download a file when you hover over a link. In the example below, the link is in my Dropbox folder, and is named Invoice XLS file. To open the file, click Open. A new window will appear notifying you that your files are being accessed.

Clicking open will trigger the function add-on and open a new window in which the file is displayed in the online document viewer. In this case, the file is opened with LibreOffice.

Add-on can not only see the contents of a number of types of files, but also allows you to edit and save different versions of it. This module supports a large number of files including Microsoft Word files, spreadsheets, photos and even a zip file.

It also works on other download link from any web page. Simply move the mouse over the link, and you should always get a pop-up of the same choices.

Although the use of add-on may seem simple enough, there are some rules to remember. First, make sure that the pop-ups enabled in Firefox, because the link opens the application needs to be done in a new window. Secondly, when you are resting in your browser for 10 minutes, add-on out of the cloud storage account, in which case you need to reconnect to continue using it.

If you do not mind going through the steps, then File Opener rollApp will definitely save you more time next time you access the files online. Although this is not really friendly as we would like, it is a process that ensures the long-term viable and decent comfort.
